BBC Plans For iPhone Application
Dec 1st
The BBC may be preparing a dedicated BBC iPlayer application for iPhone and iPod touch if the images accompanying a recent BBC monthly report are to be believed. Some of the pictures shown included:

One shows Chris Moyles, BBC Radio 1 presenter, broadcasting live with a chance to ‘Send Chris a message’ while the second has a choice of TV programmes and a ‘Live’ option to watch BBC output. The mock-up also has a ‘Downloads’ option. In the images the iPhone seen in the image is connected to the Internet via a Wi-Fi network.
“I’m pleased to be able to tell you that from today, the BBC is sharing iPlayer data in more detail than ever before. The numbers give new insights into how people use the service, who they are and which programmes are most popular. Data will be available for how many people watched via live simulcast versus on demand. And even how many people watch iPlayer on each platform – be it PC, mobile or games console.”
Last month, a new online service for the iPhone and iPod touch called TVcatchup.com was launched. It allows users to watch live television via QuickTime player and h.264 in Safari although channels from the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, five etc lag behind live broadcasts by half a minute or so.
Worlds Most Expensive iPhone!
Dec 1st
A designer from Liverpool has created the world’s most expensive iPhone, it includes a few diamonds and a bit of gold… when i say that i really do mean ALOT! The phone has just under 200 diamonds and costs just under £2 Million (3.28 million US$)

So what’s so special about it causing the EXTREME price?
Dubbed the iPhone 3GS “Supreme” , it features a 22-carat solid gold case and costs £1.92 million including delivery. The home button has been replaced by a single diamond of more than seven carats. The front rim of the case is embedded with 136 flawless diamonds totalling 68-carats, while the Apple logo at the back contains 53 of the same jewels.
Stuart Hughes took 10 months to make the phone for an anonymous Australian businessman. Of course, the box that the normal iPhone is packaged in simply wouldn’t do, instead this phone comes in a chest made of granite and Kashmir gold, lined with nubuck leather. Some people just have too much money to simply spend on some of the most pointless things.
Blackberry Gets Ebay Application
Nov 26th
The BlackBerry App World is slowly but surely gaining ground as a storefront for distributing BlackBerry applications. eBay is the latest major company to go about creating an application for the platform, in the form of an eBay app for BlackBerry auctioneers in the U.S. and Canada.

The official eBay for BlackBerry application includes features to search for, track, and buy an item from the phone. Unsurprisingly, the eBay app accepts PayPal payments seeing as ebay owns paypal, it is also currently the only payment system for purchasing BlackBerry apps through the App World.
In addition to letting users search and buy, the eBay app will notify you of your bidding status, including when you’ve won or lost a bid. It can also schedule auction-related reminders in the BlackBerry calendar.
